Multimedia In Education - 2D Graphic Editing Software

Assalamualaikum.

Last week, we'd learnt about vector and bitmap, how to make use a few applications such as Paint, Google Sketch (Draw) and not to be miss out, GIMP. Before we go further with it, lets gets familiar with those words first, will you?

VECTOR GRAPHICS  the use of geometrical primitives such as points, lines, curves and shapes orpolygon(s), which are all based on mathematical expressions, to represent images in computer graphics. "Vector", in this context, implies more than a straight line.

BITMAPa type of memory organization or image file format used to store digital images. The term bitmap comes from the computer programming terminology, meaning just a map of bits, a spatially mapped array of bits. Now, along with pixmap, it commonly refers to the similar concept of a spatially mapped array of pixels. Raster images in general may be referred to as bitmaps or pixmaps, whether synthetic or photographic, in files or memory.

Compared to bitmap, vector graphics images produces better and higher quality images. So it is more preferable to create a nice image using vector graphics. Besides, we also learnt how to use Microsoft Office Powerpoint and Google Doc's Draw.

For your eyes to see. =)

anddddd... Tupp! (scroll down)

Paint is a simple graphics painting program that has been included with all versions of Microsoft WindowsThe program opens and saves files as Windows bitmap (24-bit, 256 color, 16 color, and monochrome, all with the .bmp extension), JPEGGIF (without animation or transparency, although the Windows 98 version, a Windows 95 upgrade, and the Windows NT4 version did support the latter),PNG (without alpha channel), and TIFF (without multiple page support). The program can be in color mode or two-color black-and-white, but there is no grayscale mode. For its simplicity, it rapidly became one of the most used applications in the early versions of Windows—introducing many to painting on a computer for the first time—and still has strong associations with the immediate usability of the old Windows workspace.

Google Sketch (Draw) gives you the ability to easily create your own 3D models. With an easy-to-use interface and a wide swath of Help features, it's the perfect tool for beginner and intermediate designers alike.

p/s : This picture is an example of using Google Sketch (Draw) and was taken by Paint.

Assignment - Questionnaire

Assalamualaikum.

So readers, how should I begin with this entry? *Trying not to go wild with languague*

"Create a simple questionnaire (10 questions only) for survey research on the topic chosen - related to assignment (use multiple choice-one answer). Create a questionnaire (Pilot test) using http://www.surveymonkey.com "

How about that? Understandable? Good.

Assignment - Educational Research Process

Assalamualaikum.

Today is a beautiful day.

Have you ever heard of Educational Research Process? No?? Owh, that's fine 'cause you know why? We can always Google it. We all LOVE Google, do we?? *giggles

After a little effort of Google-ing :
Planning step of the assessment process

Conducting educational research involves the exploration, description, explanation, or prediction of educational phenomenon using systematic data collection and analysis procedures.

Since I'm not going to copy-and-paste everything here, you can always read more about it, just to have a clear view of what I'm trying to explain.

Assignment - Literature Review

Assalamualaikum.

Howdy, howdy peeps! The sun is shining brightly, isn't?

LITERATURE REVIEW

What is literature review exactly?

literature review is a body of text that aims to review the critical points of current knowledge including substantive findings as well as theoretical and methodological contributions to a particular topic. Literature reviews are secondary sources, and as such, do not report any new or original experimental work.
Simai Haji Mati was quoted saying that literature review should be referred to as reviewing and analyzing the work of literature in relation to the specified topic in research.
Most often associated with academic-oriented literature, such as a thesis, a literature review usually precedes a research proposal and results section. Its ultimate goal is to bring the reader up to date with current literature on a topic and forms the basis for another goal, such as future research that may be needed in the area.
A well-structured literature review is characterized by a logical flow of ideas; current and relevant references with consistent, appropriate referencing style; proper use of terminology; and an unbiased and comprehensive view of the previous research on the topic.

Here we are again. Writing on literature review is my given task for this week. Yes, a task for each week. Just to make sure we're learning something from this course (Of course we are!). From my experience, writing a literature review for a topic is quite time-consuming. Involved lots of reading and jotting down notes.

Assignment - Plagiarism

Assamualaikum.

Yay! Another assignment. Haha. Sorry, I just can not help myself typing that.

This week, we are doing on plagiarism. Before I go deeper with this, please allow me to define plagiarism. Plagiarism is defined as the unauthorized use or close imitation of the languague and thoughts of another author and the representation of them as one's own original work, as by not crediting the author.

Basically enough, I need to study on the topic and discuss about it critically and creatively (again?). After that, here comes my favourite part, which is writing a report about plagiarism. Something difference about this task is, it's not only I have to study on articles of plagiarism, but also on the websites (hope that would bring some differences).

Do feel free to drop your comments on my report, yeah. Be safe people.

Assignment - Open Source Software

Assalamualaikum.

This week's assignment is quite similar to last week assignment. This week, we have been assigned to do THINK, PAIR, SHARE activity. For this task, 1 student is assigned to 1 subtopic. I've chose subtopic Open Source Software for my assignment.

What exactly I have to do is, firstly, using any search engine, study the subtopic individually (THINK). Then, discuss with other student(s) about the same subtopic (PAIR). For each pair (triplet), use one of our facebook groups created before, to create a document explaining and discussing critically about the issues of the subtopic Open Source Software, plus providing the links (SHARE). With that, each member of the group must read and respond to our post relating to the subtopic. The owner/moderator must also give feedbacks (ONLINE DISCUSSION).

That's all from me now.
